Meet Michelle Minter: A Pillar of Financial Excellence at C-FACTS

Michelle brings more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit and corporate accounting, with a strong focus on helping organizations build reliable financial systems and stay compliant with federal funding requirements. She has been part of the C-FACTS team since 2010 and plays a key role in strengthening the financial operations of Community Development Corporations and other mission-driven organizations.

Michelle is known for her attention to detail, steady leadership, and deep understanding of HUD-funded programs.

Michelle’s experience includes:

  • Supporting nonprofits with accounting systems, financial reporting, and payroll operations

  • Managing over $25 million in HUD funds while supporting the Detroit Land Bank Authority, helping maintain strong financial controls over multiple years

  • Developing a Capital Needs Assessment (CNA) tool used to evaluate financial management practices for HUD’s Distressed Cities Technical Assistance program

  • Serving as Chief Financial Officer for a community development organization prior to joining C-FACTS

  • Holding roles across accounting functions, including Controller and AP/AR, in both nonprofit and corporate environments

In addition to her professional work, Michelle is active in community service, serving as Treasurer for Heritage Works and volunteering with the DPS Reading Corps.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University and a Master’s in Accounting from Walsh College.
